Connection issues

If you’re having issues with your connection, try out a few of these solutions:

  • Move the computer to another spot – there could be something affecting your signal
  • Check that the sim card is in the dongle and is inserted correctly
  • Take the dongle out, then reinsert it – this will fix the problem if your dongle is stuck in flash drive mode
  • Check that you have the right version of Connection Manager at www.o2.co.uk/mobilebroadbandsupport

Problems with Connection Manager
Sometimes Connection Manager won’t be able to find your dongle. To fix this, you’ll just need to reinstall your dongle.

If your Connection Manager looks like this:

  • Remove the dongle from your computer
  • Go to Tools and click Install USB modem
  • Insert your dongle
  • Wait a few minutes and check the Show Available Networks window for O2 UK

If your Connection Manager looks like this:

  • Remove the dongle from your computer
  • Go to Settings > Devices > Install and click Install Mobile Broadband dongle or modem
  • When it tells you that the drivers have been installed, plug the dongle into your computer
  • Wait a few minutes and check the Show Available Networks window for O2 UK

If you’ve followed all these steps and still can’t get online, uninstall Connection Manager and then reinstall it. If this doesn’t solve the problem, it’s possible that your dongle is faulty.

Please take a note of any flashing lights on the modem, and then contact us
