Help with APNs

What are APNs?
APNs are access point names which allow you to connect to the data network. Your iPhone will come with the Pay Monthly APN preset; however you will be able to change this.

What APN should I have?

Pay Monthly iPhone
APN: idata.o2.co.uk

Pay Monthly non-iPhone Tariff
APN: mobile.o2.co.uk

Pay & Go iPhone
APN: payandgo.o2.co.uk

Corporate Bespoke iPhone
APN: mycompany.co.uk (for example). Your company's IT administrator will be able to provide full details.

How do I check and change the APN?

iOS 5 and iOS6:

To check the APN select Settings > General > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Network > APN
From here there is also an option to change the APN.

iOS7

To check the APN select Settings > Mobile > Mobile Data Network > APN From here there is also an option to change the APN.

Why would I need to change an APN?

All iPhones come with the iPhone Pay Monthly APN configured as default. If you are using your iPhone on Pay & Go or with a non-iPhone tariff you will need to change the APN.
